MiniScreen changes the size of the desktop on a large screen Macintosh to
something smaller. It's great for software developers with full page
displays who need to test their programs on smaller screen machines. It is
useful for constraining mouse clicks to the windows of older applications
(e.g. some games) that are not MultiFinder compatible. It also makes for a
neat gag in the office. See if your co-workers can navigate through the
Finder with a Classic Mac's 4" desktop!
MiniScreen's Control Panel interface allows you to customize it. Throw
animated knife switches to turn it on or off, and to enable or disable the
display of the startup icon. Use the pop-up menu to choose from a list of
popular screen sizes. Type numbers into the two text input boxes to set up a
custom sized desktop. During startup, holding down the Option key tells
MiniScreen that you want to use the mouse to select the size of a custom
desktop. MiniScreen remembers your new screen size so that it will set your
display accordingly each time you start your Mac.
See the enclosed "About MiniScreen..." file for complete documentation.
This 1.6 trial version has been colorized, supports additional screen sizes
including the new 21" Apple Color monitor, has a completely revised pop up
menu showing screen dimensions for all monitors, knife switch directions
are corrected (pushing them up, rather than down, turns things on), is
System 7 compatible, and is compiled with THINK C 5.0.1. Shareware $20.
